What a sweet and thoughtful gift. I am sure she will LOVE Samantha. And I think you are right--she won't be able to resist a purchase for Samantha once she gets to AG Place! LOL. Be sure to let us know how she reacts to the surprise. Take pictures and enjoy the moment.

You sound like a wonderful daughter. I hope you and your Mom and DD enjoy your trip to AGPC. If there is a place that can help you forget your troubles, it is American Girl Place.

I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. My mom is alone, too, and she still misses my dad. I'll be praying for her.
Giving her Samantha is the sweetest thing! Helping her get involved in a new hobby is a really good idea in itself. We always need to find something cheerful, even in the saddest times in our lives.

This reminds me of my great grandma. She always wanted a doll, but only had one which her sister broke. When I was little, I would bring Felicity to visit and she loved her. When she was 86, she bought Samantha for herself because it was her time period. She was soo cute with her Samantha. She was planning on getting a bitty baby next, but died at age 96.
I love hearing other stories like these. Isn't it great how much AG means to people of *all* ages?!
